I started my journey in web design and development out of pure passion. Back in 2001, while living in Germany in my early twenties, I was following the band Placebo on their Black Market Tour. I went to more than 10 gigs, took over a thousand photos, and wanted to share them with other fans. But at the time, internet was charged by the minute, so uploading images to forums wasn’t practical. I realized the only way to share my reviews and photos was to build a website of my own.

Armed with a stack of HTML books (this was before YouTube tutorials), I taught myself to code and started creating. Soon after, I was experimenting with PhpNuke, building more interactive sites, until I landed a German government course on web design and online opportunities.
In 2005, I returned to Brazil and landed my first job as an HTML coder (back then, the term “front-end developer” wasn’t even widely used). By 2007, I was working at an advertising agency where I was introduced to WordPress. At first, I wasn’t a fan — I found it limiting compared to PhpNuke — but as WordPress evolved, so did I. With its growing community, plugins, and flexibility, I grew into the platform and eventually embraced it fully.
Today, I bring over 15 years of experience designing and building custom WordPress websites. I’ve grown alongside the platform itself, from its early blogging days to the powerful CMS it is now. What started as a hobby to share photos and gig reviews has become my career — helping founders, creators, and small businesses craft websites that are unique, professional, and truly theirs.
